Simply specify the fields you want to include in each record. PrestoWorks fields can handle full and abstracted text, plus dates, numbers, images, and more. Pour as much information into any field as necessary.

 PrestoWorks’ ability to link one content type to others eliminates redundant information, and reduces the time you spend entering and updating your data. Keep common information (such as names and addresses) in one content type and reference it from others.

Fast, Precise, User-Friendly Searching

 PrestoWorks completes a keyword search across thousands of records in seconds. (The same search in a standard DBMS can take many minutes.) PrestoWorks delivers this difference because it indexes every word in a content type, resulting in faster searches than a DBMS which does not index textual information.

 With PrestoWorks, manage complex queries with ease. Simply fill out a customized search screen. Choose from a variety of Boolean operators and specify the selection criteria — such as dates, keywords, phrases, ranges, and proximity relationships — in order to broaden or narrow your searches.

 Search screens can include prompts to search several fields at once. Users can select keywords or terms from popup indices automatically built by PrestoWorks and displayed along with the search screen.

 PrestoWorks breaks records down to the field level, producing precise search results. Queries can be narrowed by searching two or more fields at the same time, dramatically increasing search accuracy. E.g., instead of searching for all correspondence with the words “Bob Jones,” you can search for all letters written by Bob Jones to Mary Smith before June 2018.

Easily Import Records

 By importing ASCII-delimited files, you can add thousands of records to a content type from virtually any third-party database package. Your existing database records can be transferred to PrestoWorks in minutes. You can also import text from documents in a variety of formats.

Licensing and Pricing

DB/TextWorks clients will automatically migrate to a SaaS subscription-based model with equivalent user licenses in PrestoWorks.
WebPublisher PRO clients will automatically migrate to a SaaS subscription-based model with equivalent user licenses in PrestoWorks Publisher.
Technical support will be included as part of annual maintenance fees.
Pricing for Presto Works and PrestoWorks Publisher will be comparable or equivalent to current DB/TextWorks and WebPublisher Pro maintenance costs.

To qualify, clients must be in good standing with annual maintenance.

Does PrestoWorks have the same capabilities as Inmagic DB/TextWorks?

Yes, PrestoWorks has similar or like capabilities. However, PrestoWorks & PrestoWorks Publisher are new and different products from DB/TextWorks and Web Publisher Pro. That means users will have enhanced versions of those capabilities alongside “extras” such as a new user interface, ability to access PrestoWorks from any computer and search across multiple content types simultaneously, browsable collections folder structures, powerful reporting and security, easy mobile access and setup, infocart capabilities, and much more.

Questions About Upgrading to PrestoWorks

How do I upgrade to PrestoWorks?

Complete the form below to begin the process of registering. Once registered you will receive an email with an active subscription link and can migrate using our conversion tool.

Can I leave unwanted content behind or do I have to move all of my content over during the upgrade?

You will be able to select the content you want to bring over via our straightforward and easy to use conversion utility. You will also be able to run the process multiple times if you didn’t bring over everything in the first run.

Can I continue using DB/TextWorks while I try PrestoWorks?

Yes! While you test PrestoWorks your current DB/TextWorks system will continue to run as usual. You can try it as many times as you like; convert, review your data, delete it and convert again if you wish. You can run both systems in parallel while you evaluate PrestoWorks, then rerun the conversion later when you’re ready to permanently migrate.

What happens if there are technical difficulties during the upgrade process?

In the unlikely event of technical difficulties you will be able to access support through Lucidea’s Client Services.

Can I transition or upgrade beyond PrestoWorks and PrestoWorks Publisher to Presto?

Yes. And if you later decide you want more of the “bells and whistles” Presto offers, there is an option for transitioning, but at an additional cost. Alternatively, you can also choose to upgrade to Lucidea Core based product (SydneyEnterprise, ArchivEra, Argus, or GeniePlus). Those products and full Presto may require additional licensing and/or implementation service fees, though some costs may be covered by Lucidea’s Evergreen program.

Questions About Licensing

How will licensing options work?

PrestoWorks and PrestoWorks Publisher will be available only as a multi-tenant SaaS subscription solution and a perpetual license option is not available. As a DB/TextWorks and/or Web Publisher Pro customer you will be automatically migrated to a like PrestoWorks and/or PrestoWorks Publisher solution with user licenses equivalent to their current number of user licenses.

If you prefer an on-premise or perpetual license, you have the option of migrating to Presto Essentia or full Presto via traditional SaaS or Subscription licensing and implementation services.

Does PrestoWorks support multiple user access?

PrestoWorks supports concurrent use, so multiple users may be authorized to use the application but simultaneous access is limited to the licensed user counts. Upgrades to a multi-user license will be available through purchases of additional five (5) user packs. DBTextWorks licensing will not provide a shareable/publishable home page Portal but customers can scale up to PrestoWorks Publisher or Presto Essentia as appropriate.

Will I be able to have a multi-year subscription?

Yes! Both Single and multi-year contracts are available.

What Subscription costs can I expect?

Subscription costs to PrestoWorks and PrestoWorks Publisher will be available at the client’s current Support and Maintenance costs of DB/Textworks and Web Publisher Pro. Get a new subscription for the price of your DB/Textworks and Web Publisher Pro maintenance for the duration of their available support. To be eligible, customers must be in good standing with current support and maintenance.

What maintenance costs can I expect?

SaaS subscription fees include technical support and maintenance entitlements at no extra cost.

What if I no longer pay maintenance?

Customers no longer paying maintenance must reinstate in order to access PrestoWorks and PrestoWorks Publisher at standard pricing.

Questions About Training and Support

Are there any training materials?

Yes! Basic training materials are provided via online documents and video.

When will support of existing DB/TextWorks and Web Publisher Pro end?

Existing Lucidea DB/TextWorks users will continue to receive support for their current applications as long as their platform may be supported by Lucidea and the industry. We are excited to provide our customers with this FREE upgrade path to the latest technology and an assured support future. We encourage all DB/TextWorks and Web Publisher Pro customers to take advantage of this opportunity.
