Virtual SLA 2020 a Huge Success for the Special Libraries Association and Lucidea
(VANCOUVER, British Columbia —) Vancouver-based software developer Lucidea attended this year’s Virtual SLA Conference and INFO-EXPO as a Diamond Sponsor, with a broad lineup of events and updates as part of over 100 sessions delivered to more than 1,000 attendees.
Lucidea’s presentations and activities included:
- Virtual exhibit booth
- iPad giveaway
- Blogger competition
- Opening remarks and welcome
- 2 Hot Topics sessions: Virtual Libraries-the Next Normal? and The Intersection of Libraries, Archives and Museums
- 3 Solutions Showcase sessions highlighting what’s new with SydneyEnterprise, GeniePlus, and ArchivEra
- 3 Livestream scheduled booth interactive product demonstrations
- Thought leadership presentation on the next normal for Special Libraries and the future of the profession
Special Libraries Association event planners successfully tackled a problem common to virtual conferences: lack of exhibit booth interactions between attendees and solutions providers. SLA solved this challenge by including Livestream interactive product demonstrations as part of the main schedule. Says Lucidea’s Marketing Manager, Mark Maslowski, “We coupled the Livestreams with our Solutions Showcase presentations, resulting in lots of booth traffic and conversations—making this year’s SLA Conference a very interactive and productive virtual conference experience.”
