Hardware Architecture

LucideaCore 4.3.5 is an ASP.NET 4.5 based application that provides access to any modern browser through your Intranet or the Internet.

LucideaCore Application Server

The LucideaCore Application Server is where the main functionality of the system resides. All client operations are performed on this server.

 

  • Processor: 32 or 64-bit, four cores
  • RAM: 4 GB
  • Hard Disk: 80 GB (plus storage for images if applicable)
  • Windows 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2 Server, or 2016
  • IIS
  • .NET Framework 4.5
  • Option: Oracle client tools (including ODP.NET) to connect to Oracle databases
  • Option: Crystal Reports Server to manage reports
  • Option: Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2017 (x86) to connect to Z39.50

Database Server

The Database Server can be one of the following DBMS.

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2014, 2016, or 2017
  • Oracle 11g (11.2 / x64) or 12c (12.2 / non-CDB)

Full-Text Indexing features from each DBMS are used to provide full Keyword searching. Features of each DBMS can be used to create automated backups, re-indexing, and re-keywording.

The database server configuration settings in MS-SQL Server or Oracle will allow the user to specify the collation scheme (sort order). The LucideaCore system does not require that any specific collation scheme be selected. For example, if you intend on using Chinese, German, French, or Arabic text in your database, you can choose to sort by any one of these character sets. You can also choose to have case-sensitive, accent-sensitive, kana-sensitive, or width-sensitive collation.

CRYSTAL REPORTS SERVER

The Crystal Reports Server is used to generate Crystal Reports on the Database.

  • Version 2008, 2011, or 2013

NOTE: The Crystal Reports Runtime Redistributable can be used instead of a Report Server. Please contact Lucidea for more information on how this license can be obtained.

CLIENT

The LucideaCore system is entirely accessed through a web-based interface, providing both user and administrative functions.

LucideaCore & SharePoint 2013 Combined Requirements

A LucideaCore & SharePoint 2013 Combined solution requires additional hardware capabilities for both the application and database servers.

SharePoint 2013 requires a web server or application server in a three-tier farm. LucideaCore integrates with both the web and database server and the requirements for these are listed below. The third server can be either an application server or a web server. If the third server is configured as an additional web server then it will need to meet the same requirements as the primary web server as described below. If the third server is configured as an application server then it will need to meet the requirements as directly stated by SharePoint 2013 (please see SharePoint 2013 documentation).

LUCIDEACORE & SHAREPOINT 2013 COMBINED WEB SERVER

The LucideaCore & SharePoint 2013 Combined Web Server is an integrated solution that requires both products to be installed on the same application server. All client operations are performed on this server.

The LucideaCore system is entirely accessed through a web-based interface, providing both user and administrative functions.
